The Bulletin​

Hey hey hey,

This week, I returned to carrying two phones: one Android phone, one iPhone (paired to an Apple Watch). Best of both worlds, if you will! This will allow me to test everything without needing to keep moving SIM cards back and forth, which has proven to be an annoying first world problem these past few years.

Regardless, I'll probably do a thing on my setup at some point, but for now screenshots are at the end of this email!

Either way, as I write this, it's very early Friday morning (for me). I had to do this thing ahead of time as I'm slammed the next couple days and I was worried I couldn't get this out on time. Well, here we are! Thank goodness.

Upcoming Events

Soon, it'll be that time again. Here are the events coming up for the month of July 2024!

• 14th July, 2024 from 12pm-4pm, my mom will be at the Apple Barn Makers Market! Come on down if you're in the area. The Apple Barn Country Bake Shop is located at 604 US Route 7 S, Bennington, Vermont!
• 20th July, 2024 from 10am-5pm, my mom will be at the Apple Barn Country Bake Shop once more for its annual Blueberry Festival!

Things I found across the net...

A podcast, and a few little things I found.

• One of my favourite fellow creators, Snazzy Labs, joins John Gruber's The Talk Show to talk about WWDC24's announcements including Apple Intelligence and the circumstances looming overhead as well with the European Commission and the Digital Markets Act.
• With iOS 18 Developer Beta 2 gaining support for RCS--which has been long overdue on iPhone--9to5Google's Abner Li detailed some inconsistencies that will likely get addressed when iOS 18 releases to everyone in September. It's worth the read, since texting between iPhone and Android is about to get a whole lot better!
• The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed a new rule that would require the likes of AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile US to unlock their mobile devices after 60 days. FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel made an official statement alongside this announcement. You can read the proposal here, and if you'd like, you can file a public comment with the FCC as well.
• For a little throwback, how about the the original iPhone webpage from all the way back in 2007 on Apple.com (Internet Archive, you're the best!) It's cool to see this stuff again. I remember when I was 5 and overheard adults talking about this "revolutionary new device." And they were right: it was! Look how far we've come since...

For those who wanted to see the setup I've got going for dual phones, there you go! One SIM is on Verizon, and the other is on T-Mobile, both go through US Mobile as its service provider. I plan to move both lines to AT&T (again, through US Mobile) eventually, but that's a while off yet.
